Precision CNC Manufacturing for OEM applications

The Flinchbaugh Company prides itself on delivering parts with consistent, reliable quality to our partners. We provide a number of machine shop services for a wide range of OEMs. These services include:

  • CNC Machining: including milling, turning, and multi-axis machining
  • Painting
  • Heat Treatment
  • Plating and other coatings
  • Assembly
  • Surface Grinding
  • Parts Washing
  • Vibratory Deburring

Using 3D CAD/CAM software to guide our manufacturing processes, Flinchbaugh machines and finishes parts for partners in aerospace, medical, entertainment, and original equipment manufacturing.

We work directly with OEMs to create durable, long-lasting parts such as hydraulic stabilizers, compressors parts, and parts for packaging equipment. We’ve also been trusted to make several specific critical components for our partners, some examples of which are below.

Heat Transfer and Chill Plates

Chill plates are used to transfer heat away from heat sources that cannot be exposed to direct contact cooling liquids. Because of this, they’re often made from raw materials such as copper or aluminum. These materials are very conductive and maximize heat exchange/transfer efficiency. Cooling is achieved by running cooling fluids through the chill plates, which are located against or near the heat source.

Chill plates are often found in electronics and power devices, such as variable speed drive units and radar systems. These applications often generate excessive heat and require that heat be mitigated in order to protect the machine.

Flinchbaugh has developed and optimized processes for many styles of chill plates. Most of the chill plates we manufacture are processed in a single setup through the use of advanced machining, programming, and work-holding. This includes both single component and two component parts, brazed part assemblies and O Ring assemblies. All multiple component parts are 100% leak tested to your specifications after processing is completed.

Compressor Components

The Flinchbaugh Company also manufactures compressor parts for HVAC systems in commercial and military use. Due to the need for corrosion protection and resistance, many internal compressor components are manufactured from specialty stainless steels such as Monel, Inconel, Copper Nickel and Precipitation Hardened Stainless.

We know the importance of these parts and are always careful to ensure that the parts we manufacture are perfectly sized, as well as durable in whatever environment they’ll be used.

Industrial Rings and Seals

Mechanical rings and seals are used to contain fluids within a vessel where a rotating shaft passes through a stationary or rotating housing. For example, mixers, pumps, and other distribution assemblies require rings and seals to contain and control fluids as they are being moved through a system. Aerospace and the Oil & Gas industry are two markets where these components are absolutely vital.

Because these components must also perform in corrosive environments, we often use stainless steel to make them. However, there is much more to manufacturing these parts than just material. To achieve the desired seal, these industrial components must be machined with

great precision and very tight tolerances. Industrial rings and seals are often rotated at very high RPM’s when used, so dimensional size control, circularity flatness, and roundness of machined components are critical to performance of the system.

Flinchbaugh is very experienced and capable of providing for your industrial ring & seal needs. Advanced CNC milling and turning technology is used on our parts to achieve a single work-holding setup for machining of most interrelated features. Once machining is complete, we use a Mahr Formtester to perform specific ring & seal critical inspections and measurements of roundness & flatness to an extremely tight tolerance.

Industrial Equipment

Flinchbaugh also makes several different types of components to be used in industrial equipment. For example, we manufacture parts for packaging, blow molding, and mining equipment. We continually update our equipment, as well as train our personnel on any new technologies or processes. We are a trusted choice for top tier OEMs, making a variety of components to be used in their equipment.

Quality custom machining for OEM applications

The Flinchbaugh company achieved ISO 9001 quality registration in 1998 and has maintained that certification since then. We make sure to control all manufacturing process data for reliable and accurate dimensional machining, as well as cost data for quick quote turnaround and competitive pricing. Top tier OEM companies trust us to manufacture a wide range of products for their OEM applications and industrial equipment.
